Internet, the numbers of 2009

Post by sohanuzzaman56 »

We are often asked specific questions about real data on the Internet, whether in professional or personal settings. These questions, often more out of curiosity than a desire to research market data, can range from the total number of Internet users to the percentage of Social Media users, Facebook users, etc.

Internet data

The data I show you have been gathered from different sources lawyer data and references, together with some calculations by the authors of the post I used as a reference. Interesting to say the least, don't you think? As in the image to illustrate this post, a large cake with different portions, I leave you here some of the most relevant data so that you know a little more about the network:

In the last year 2009…

84% of the emails sent were spam

There are 234 million websites

There are more than 120 million blogs

More than 400 million Europeans use the Internet (out of a total of approximately 500 million)

350 million people are on Facebook (of which 50% log on every day)

More than 20 million tweets per day on Twitter

There are more than 4 million photos hosted on Flickr

In the US, 82% of Internet users watch videos online (considering that YouTube has a market share there of around 40%)
