On the Shopify side, its customer service has an excellent reputation. As with Prestashop, you have several options to help you. A very comprehensive blog with a multitude of tips to apply to your site. You also have access to a forum made up of more than 610,000 members who will be able to answer all your questions. It also has webinars as well as tools made available for free to help you develop your business (logo creator, gift voucher template, invoice template, etc.). Finally, and this is the big difference with Prestashop, is that Shopify has a live chat (currently being tested), the possibility of sending an email or even chatting with them via Twitter. On the other hand, it does not have a telephone number.

4. The high cost of Prestashop
Here we are in a new point that is probably close to your heart, the price. Does it cost more to create a site via Prestashop or via Shopify? At first glance, you say to yourself that Prestashop is an open source software and therefore free, but it is not as simple as that. Indeed, you will have to take out your checkbook to buy hosting, a domain name and, above all, plugins that will be almost essential to your store. The plugins on Prestashop are quite expensive, sometimes more than 300 euros, but will be very useful for the development of your store. Finally, do not forget technical support. Indeed, bugs are quite frequent on this platform and support is chargeable (a simple intervention ticket costs 99.99 euros).

On the Shopify side, as a SaaS software, you will have to pay a monthly or annual subscription. The plans start at $29 per month (Basic), then another at $79 per month (Shopify) and finally another at $299 per month (Advanced Shopify). With the basic plan for example, you will have 24/7 support, a free SSL certificate and 2% transaction fees. In the end, creating a site on Shopify is often cheaper than with Prestashop.

5. Shopify's greater financial capacity
Here too, Shopify has managed to outclass the competition from Prestashop by becoming a real playmaker in the e-commerce website creation sector.
