Method Finder as a small quiz
I use two dimensions to select the method. Firstly, the requirements of the project and secondly, the environment of the project. You can use the following questions to first determine dimension 1 and then dimension 2. Then look for your result in the framework and find the 4 characteristics explained in the next section.

Tip:

requirements of the project
Answer the following questions with: Yes (1 point), No (-1 point) and both (0 points). Try not to give 0 points or only give them once.

Are most (more than 70%) of the project requirements predefined in a security and commodity brokers email list clear document?
Have the requirements been validated and evaluated by the client and should therefore not be tested in the project?
The time and costs of the project are estimated based on the project goal and not the other way around!
Add all the points together. This forms the score of the environment from +3 to -3 (clear requirements to unclear requirements).

environment of the project
Answer the following questions with: Yes (1 point), No (-1 point) and both (0 points). Try not to give 0 points or only give them once.

There are few dependencies on other service providers or stakeholders in the project!
There is no high probability of changes in requirements due to certain events in the market, e.g. new technologies, customer expectations,…!
The customers or clients of the project are stable in their expectations!
Add all the points together. This forms the score of the environment from +3 to -3 (stable environment to unstable environment).

Evaluation
Now you have to rank your project in the field based on the score. There are +3 to -3. If your score is 0, please see if you can refine your assessment so that it tends towards -1 or +1. Then look at the bottom of the text for the chapter that explains your project management approach. Since it goes from 1-3, you can also use the score to see to what extent the method suits you.
