Where did this name come from? According to his method, all colors are divided into achromatic and chromatic. The former include white, gray, black, and all their shades. The latter include all other colors. The Itten circle consists of primary, secondary and tertiary colors, which are described below:
Primary colors are blue, yellow, and red. Since they are considered basic, it is logical that they are located in the center of the circle. When mixed, they produce any colors and shades that human vision can distinguish.
Secondary colors are green, orange, and violet. They are formed by mixing primary colors. For example, if you mix red and yellow, you get orange, and a mixture of blue and red results in violet.
Tertiary colors are the result of mixing primary and secondary colors. For example, yellow-green is obtained by mixing the same shades, yellow-orange by the same scheme.
