11.- Duplicate content
The Site Audit tool flags duplicate content when pages on your website have the same URL or a copy of it. This can be resolved by adding a rel=“canonical” link to one of the duplicate pages or by using a 301 redirect .
Other common duplication issues include:
Duplicate H1 and title tags.
Duplicate meta descriptions.
Neglecting to optimize internal and external links
SEO Errors - Infographic Link Problems
Links that take visitors in and out of their buyer journeys can harm the overall user experience and, consequently, your site's search performance.
Google simply will not rank websites that provide a poor user experience.
Our research has revealed that nearly half of the sites we analyzed through the Site Audit tool have problems with internal and external links, suggesting that their link architectures are not optimized.
Some of the links have underscores in the URLs, contain nofollow attributes, and are HTTP instead of HTTPS, which can affect your rankings.
You can fix broken links on your website with the Site Audit tool. Identify which ones have the biggest impact on user engagement and prioritize them.
Fernando Ferreiro SEO in Indexando Marketing tells us the philippines number list following:
Finding broken internal and external links in a website audit is very common and it is something that has a simple solution: you just have to invest hours of work to make it perfect.
Does it affect SEO? Well, the truth is that it does not affect SEO if we talk about ranking, but it does have an effect if we make Google waste time when it is crawling our website.
That is, Google follows each link on our website, both internal and external, but in the case of internal links, if we make Google investigate links that do not go anywhere (404) or we have a link that redirects to a URL that redirects to another URL and so on, we make Google waste even more time.
It is not the same in all cases: it is not the same when we talk about a domain that has 100 URLs as when we talk about one with thousands of URLs.
Google is going to have more indexing problems the more URLs a project has. The more URLs there are, the more hours we must spend constantly analyzing that everything is perfect.
This is a personal opinion:
Crawl depth: Google once said that if you hide something in your domain, why should it show this URL in its results? It is not just about having the correct internal linking, you have to look at the internal link densities very carefully.
Nofollow attributes: I am almost against using this attribute in many projects, if there is a link in one of my projects, why should Google not crawl it? If there is a link, let it follow it and otherwise, let it not be linked.
Errors in sitemaps: errors in linking are not only on the web, reviewing sitemaps is essential to avoid 301 or 404. Especially after a migration or on websites with many URLs.
Anchor text of links: this is another element to take into account in SEO. It is not just what you link, it is also important to define with what concept you do it.
Many projects insist on obtaining links from other websites to their own in an almost automated way without first having everything perfect onpage.
One more thing, we always talk about links between URLs, but we cannot forget that there are many sectors, such as the fashion industry, that live off of image or video traffic. If we have these wrong links on our website, it will be difficult for Google to place these elements in its results.
