You can now schedule posts in Threads and direct messages on Instagram

DFor a few weeks now, several users have reported that they can now schedule messages within the Instagram app. This idea was born with the intention of not disturbing your friends when they are in break mode, allowing you to schedule the message for the next day and thus respect their decision.


However, as a novelty, Adam Mosseri has announced on his Threads fusion database that they are also testing it on Meta's text platform after many months in development.

How to schedule your messages on Instagram
Enter a chat with one of your friends
Write the message you want to send
Press and hold the “Send” button
Select the date and time you want to send your message.

It is worth noting that you can schedule the message to be sent for up to a month from now . Messages that are waiting to be sent will appear at the bottom of the chat in a banner that, if you click on it, you will be able to see which messages are pending sending.

How to schedule your posts in Threads
Write the post
Select the three dots from the top right menu
Select “Schedule”
Choose the date and time you want to publish it.
You should keep in mind that you will not be able to schedule responses to other posts , since according to the CEO of Instagram and Threads, they want an active conversation to continue on the platform.

This change comes at an ideal time for Threads and its growth, as it recently announced that it has reached 100 million daily active users and 300 million monthly active users.

The changes on both platforms are not currently available to all users.
