In many articles on the site you will learn how to save on water, heating, food, shopping and phone calls. For me, the biggest problem is saving electricity (probably that's why I waited so long to write a text on this topic). Finally, however, it's time to deal with high electricity bills. Especially since the days in our country are getting shorter in the summer, we need more artificial light. In addition, we spend less time in the garden and more time at home.
How to pay less for electricity without major sacrifices?
Of course, there are several ways to reduce electricity bills that I use. However, I do not use them to the extent that I should. Looking at my budget recently, I saw that the bills, even in the summer, were relatively high, so it's time to do something about it. Once again, I see how important it is to keep a household budget.

Whenever possible, use daylight (I know, I know, it's very dominican republic whatsapp database to do this, especially in November and December). Don't cover your windows with heavy, dark curtains or blinds when it's bright outside. Replace light bulbs with energy-saving LED bulbs throughout your home, adapting them to individual rooms. Turn off the lights in rooms you're not in.
If you're not using a device, simply turn it off . Don't leave devices in standby mode either. Although power consumption is really minimal, considering the number of devices we currently have at home, it adds up to a few extra zlotys. Take care of your equipment. Regularly descale your washing machine, clean your dishwasher, defrost your fridge. Vacuum your computer and other devices. Thanks to such procedures, some of them will use less power, and all of them will definitely be functional for a longer time.
Ceramic plate
If you have a ceramic hob, pay attention to the pots you cook in. The best ones are those that adhere to the hob with their entire surface. The difference in consumption can be up to 50%. That's a lot, especially if we cook at home every day.
Electric oven
The most economical oven is a convection oven, so if you are planning to buy a new oven in the near future, it is a good idea to choose one equipped with this function. When baking, open the oven as little as possible, which reduces costs. Turn the oven off 5 or 10 minutes before the planned end of baking. The temperature will still be maintained, and we reduce electricity consumption.
Dishwasher
As with a washing machine, turn it on when it is full. If the dishes are very dirty and dried, the dishwasher often cannot clean them thoroughly. Before putting the dishes in the dishwasher, soak them and get rid of any food residue.
Iron
Ironing is something I simply can't stand. Not everything needs to be ironed, but there are many clothes that are unwearable without an iron. Contrary to appearances, you can also save a little electricity and a lot of time here. If you have to iron something, it's best to do it in bulk, i.e. after washing, sort the clothes that need ironing and do it all at once. You heat up the iron once, and you also save time on preparing the ironing area.
