Alongside this European maneuver, it is necessary to remember the various actions that some countries are preparing precisely for the purpose of implementing electronic invoicing at B2B level, as well as B2G. Let us remember above all France and Spain, which have long announced this mandate, to be introduced gradually between 2024 and 2026. We have discussed these aspects in detail in our article dedicated to electronic invoicing in Europe . More recently, Greece has also shared its plan in this regard, which provides for a gradual introduction between September 2023 and 2025.

Today, however, we want to focus in particular on the recent developments hong kong whatsapp resource announced by Germany: a country with an extremely fragmented and complex situation so far, from this point of view, Germany has obtained the green light from the European Commission and has recently announced its intention to introduce B2B electronic invoicing starting , according to the latest updates, from January 2026. The first proposal released by the Ministry of Finance , as we had already announced previously, envisaged 2025 as the kick-off date: however, recent developments have led the German government to postpone the entry into force of the mandate until 2026

Let's start from the beginning, summarizing the steps that led to the recent declaration announcing the introduction of electronic invoicing in Germany.

The first signs came in November 2022, when Germany requested the European Commission for the necessary derogation to be able to introduce the generalized mandate for electronic invoicing . This is the procedure provided for by the rules currently in force, which require that the request be supported, among other things, by appropriate justifications, such as a description of the expected benefits. As we have seen elsewhere, the new ViDA proposal provides for the elimination of this step starting in 2024, the year from which it will be easier for member states to introduce electronic invoicing.
