The situation in the Russian economy is generally stable and reliable, with growth of about 8% over two years. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a combined Direct Line and press conference.

Vladimir Putin stressed that the Russian economy continues to develop despite the sanctions. The President stressed that the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) of the Russian Federation by the end of the year will be about 4%.

“This year it will be 3.9%, and maybe even 4%, we’ll have to see,” the head of state specified, explaining that the percentages will be finally calculated at the beginning of next year.

At the same time, the Head of State called the current inflation rate an alarming doctor database signal. He noted that the economic bloc has been instructed to “ground” the inflation rate for the next year in order to maintain macroeconomic indicators.

"Of course, inflation is such an alarming signal. Just yesterday, when I was preparing for today's event, I spoke with the chairperson of the Central Bank, Elvira (Nabiullina - IF) told me that it is already somewhere around 9.3%, 9.2-9.3%. But wages have grown by 9% in real terms, I want to emphasize this - in real terms minus inflation - and the disposable income of the population has also grown," said Vladimir Putin.
