Farmers of Tambov region harvested more than 3 million tons of grain

The harvesting campaign continues in Tambov Oblast. At present, the region's farmers have harvested 907 thousand hectares, or 87 percent of the sown area.
According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, the gross grain harvest is 3.07 million tons. Farmers have completed harvesting almost all grain crops. The exception is grain corn.
At the operational meeting held by Maxim Egorov, the Head of the region was informed that the quality of wheat is significantly superior to last year's grain. This is confirmed by specialists from the Tambov branch of the Grain Quality Assessment Center, who control the grain for compliance with consumer properties. The harvesting campaign is also facilitated by the favorable weather that has set in in the region. Farmers work in the fields from early morning until late evening. Farmers have harvested sunflower on almost 40% of the area. The harvesting of potatoes and vegetables continues.
"Today, our top priority is to ensure harvesting of 100 percent of the area. We have all the necessary resources for this. Due to the situation caused by high temperatures during the growing season, we certainly do not expect to achieve the record results of last year. However, farmers are harvesting at a high rate and making their worthy contribution to the country's food security," emphasized Alena Sytova, Deputy Head of the Tambov Region and Minister of Agriculture of the Tambov Region.
