Statistics on Peru's digital situation in 2020-2021

We Are Social and Hootsuite have presented the update of the Digital 2021 Global Overview Report and on this occasion we will talk about the data recorded on the Digital Situation of Peru in 2020-2021.

Below we will analyze digital behavior and growth in Peru, taking into account the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the increased use of digital platforms in the Andean country.

The Peruvian population is comprised of 33.17 million people, of which 78% live in urbanized areas.

There are 36.14 million mobile devices, the total number of devices such as cell phones, tablets and laptops, representing 109.9%, which exceeds the total population.

There are 19.90 million Internet users in Peru, that is, 60% of the population, and 27 million Peruvians (81.4% of the population) are active on social networks. This means that most people in the country have more than one profile per social network.

Compared to last year, Peru showed a population increase of 1.3%, which represents 424 thousand new people.

Mobile connections, on the other hand, decreased by 5%: 1.9 million fewer connections.
