The Public Procurement Portal congratulates the municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante/RN, Mr. Mayor, Paulo Emídio de Medeiros and the entire purchasing team, for having taken an important step on July 15, 2019, in digital innovation and transparency in the municipality's purchasing management.
In less than 30 days, the city government has already published 9 electronic auction notices, opening up the possibility for suppliers from all over the country to participate in the processes and, in addition, the city gains in cost-effectiveness as the auctions are carried out.
“ We used another system, but we were not successful. We were introduced to the Public Procurement Portal and we liked it because it was free. The training and ease of use of the platform combined business with pleasure ,” says Carla Virgínia Gomes, General Coordinator of Contract Management at the City Hall.
São Gonçalo do Amarante is known worldwide for having been the scene of one of the most significant events in the history of Rio Grande do Norte and the Brazilian Catholic religion, the Uruaçu Massacre, which occurred in 1645, when the Dutch tried to impose military, cultural and religious domination on the region. However, the inhabitants did not accept the impositions and the tragedy ended up claiming the lives of eighty people.
With this scenario, the municipality continued to fight throughout history for its autonomy and definitively gained political emancipation, no longer belonging to Macaíba.
With over 100,000 inhabitants, São Gonçalo do Amarante has a rich cultural tradition, with several monuments and historical sites. In addition, it stands out for having a strong agricultural and commercial practice.
Since then, the municipality has gained space in the country's political and economic scenario, being considered one of the fastest growing municipalities in the entire state.
From this, it is possible to observe the importance of this great step taken by the city of São Gonçalo do Amarante, in the words of the auctioneer, Raimundo Nonato:
“A simpler and more objective system. With immediate support to answer questions and provide solutions. We know that all of this will bring greater savings to the municipality .”
The Public Procurement Portal congratulates the entire city hall team for their commitment to innovation and transparency in the purchasing process, which, in addition to speeding up processes, will contribute to the continued growth of the municipality.

For bids for public bodies that do not belong to the Federal Executive Branch, such as municipal bids, for example, there may be other requirements and other types of registration.
