The architecture of BI systems includes several key building blocks that work together to support the core function of a BI system: the effective analysis and application of data.
Sources of information. BI systems are supplemented by data obtained from various resources: databases, information warehouses, content management systems, social media platforms and CRM systems.
ETL processes: These are used to process and transfer data from this variety of sources (extract, transform, load). They ensure that the data is transformed into the required format and maintains its integrity on the way to its new destination.
Information storage. Underlies the entire structure. Data Warehouse (DWH) provides high-speed access to data and acts as a layer between sources and analytical tools. They can appear as regular relational databases or modern NoSQL storages.
Data modeling and analytical tools: A doctor data package variety of tools are used for analysis, including OLAP cubes, business intelligence panels, dashboards, and reports.
