Different RPA vendors may provide additional enhancements to the core suite of process automation features.
For example, one manufacturer may integrate its robots with external text recognition tools, while another will provide an open source system or its own solutions for mass input of groups of characters. There is also a choice of tools for providing dialogs with the user and many other useful functions. The presence of a wide range of service components in the portfolio of the RPA provider is an important criterion for the advancement of its solutions.
It should be noted that there is a lawyer database shortage of truly universal industrial robots on the market, which may be expensive for an unprepared customer. At the same time, simpler and more accessible solutions are usually focused on a narrow class of tasks. In this regard, finding a suitable option for process automation is not an easy task. It cannot be fully trusted even to the most convincing seller/integrator. The purchase itself may be easy, but there is a chance that you will then have to suffer with an unsuitable solution for which you paid a lot of money.

RPA Platform Selection Criteria
Several software robots can be combined within one platform. The need for such a solution is determined based on the scale of the company and the volume of operations performed.
One RPA bot, using the existing set of tools, is able to work locally according to a given algorithm. For example, it can generate reports or collect statistics in one file. To automate the processes of a small company, 2-5 robots are needed. At the same time, there is no particular sense in combining them within one platform. It is not at all difficult to initiate the activity of each manually, or set up automatic launch upon certain events (for example, after receiving an email message).
With a small number of RPA bots (5–9), manual control does not cause problems, but it is more convenient to configure the work through the platform. If there are more than 10, then such a solution is necessary. This makes it possible to launch each RPA bot based on a specified schedule. For example, one robot will generate a certain report every Wednesday at 12:00.
The second important point: the platform is capable of centrally storing encrypted access parameters and a single point for configuring RPA bots. In addition, such a solution clearly demonstrates the work of software robots, allows you to analyze the efficiency of operations, redistribute the workload between operators, identify and eliminate errors.
