Another option is to use the Theme Switcha plugin . This allows you to preview your new theme without activating it.

Once activated, go to the Settings ” Theme Switcha page in the WordPress dashboard and check the box next to the “Enable Theme Switching” option.


You can also test your WordPress theme without making it live by creating a staging site. This site is a clone of your live site and is used to test any changes.
