Simply delete the current installation and follow the instructions in our WordPress installation tutorial to properly reinstall WordPress.

If you've already added content to your site, there are two easy ways /wordpress/to remove that from your site's URL. We'll cover them in methods 2 and 3.

Method 2: Change the address of your WordPress website
If you have an existing WordPress website, this method is easier and faster. The downside to this method is that it will still use your media files, such as images, /wordpress/in their URL.

First, log into your WordPress admin area and go to Settings » General . You will notice that the “WordPress Address” and “Site Address” fields both have the same URL.

Next, you need to connect to your website using an FTP client/wordpress/ , then go to the directory and download the files .htaccessand index.phpto your computer.
